Ok, I sold a car for my mum about May time, 6 months ago,

The log book was sent off etc, and the insurance with CIS cancel sorted?

We have recently had a letter, stating that my mum was in involved in an accident, on the 2 of AUG with Transco solutions, at the time my mum was on holiday in Spain.

So my mum phoned up the insurance company to find out what was going on

Only to be told that the car is in her name, even though she sold it ages ago?

Also to be told she is liable for the accident? And her insurance still valid?

even though she cancel it and not mayed anymore payments?

So im stuck as to what to do here surly she can’t get done for this?

Use the tickets of her holiday to tell them to go #### themselves.

Yep. She has proof that she wasn't in the country at the time of the accident, so where's the worry?

how does she go about getting the car out of her name tho

and the correct date it was sold for?

Only they can help you

Ask your mum to check if CIS have been taking money from her account for the insurance if she'd been paying direct debits, these should have been cancelled with the insurance.

Call CIS and ask them to send (in writing) confirmation of the fact she canceled the insurance.

She will have to remember the date and rough time she called the company to cancel the insurance, but they WILL have it recorded, and IIRC they have to keep that recording for a certain amount of time (I think it's over a year for an insurance company.)

She may have still been insured on the car if she called to cancel, but didn't send back the policy docs, however if she was paying by DD she would have had it cancelled by now through non payment if DD's had stopped going through. Again, check the bank statements to see if she was paying CIS still.
