Got a slight issue here

Hello guys, em stright to the point and I ll be honest I seem to be having anger issue atm in time and yet again the phone was damaged becasue of it, last time it cost me £300 + insurance, again parents related.....>.<

So my question is has anyone has expirance with CPW/geek squad insruance before, I know about the excess fee, will I be without a phone for weeks that is my question or do I have options with them ?

I m going to try to describe the damage to the phone the best as I can... Its a SE W995 slide phone, when I threw it the screen must have came up and got wacked therefore bending it on the runners ( you know when you don't put a drew in right its like that) I managed to put it back right again, but the spring has gone and so has the screen and the buttons on the screen unit, so my guess is that there is a cable from the main phone unit to the screen part which has come off...problem is trying to get the screen off and plugging it in, than putting it back on again. If I can do that you wouldn't notice. Also it would save me £50 and possibley a 2 week plus wait, unless they give options IE a new W995 which I don't think so.
 
haha, very funny. I knew that I was going to get a comment like that.... no matter.

I think the insrance companies would get very wise to this, very quick... and this is the very first time i actruly need it for my OWN phone, its cos its on pay and go and accidents do happen IE me throwing it, this is the first time I have lost it I normally would go out side and clam down a bit or punch a wall than I ll be fine.

This is my very first W995 so insurance needed in that 9 months or so I ve had it....so don't talk to me like I m a physo we all lose our fuses at times sometimes expesnive things such as phones take the anger...and break.... im honest, and probley ONE of the most honest people here to admit to say "hay I got mad I broke my phone first time claim what can I expect?"

non the less I don't have to justify myself I know it was a fool, its going to cost me to put right fair enough, learn to throw wallets or punch a wall...or get a sport....

instead of jumping on the band wagon, read the bloody OP. Yes I lost my temper so what? yes I threw my phone so what, does it happen often I dealt that consdering its like 9 months - a year old. The fix is extremely simple in theroy, problem is doing it, W995s are very well built and the screen is not designed to come off...so the damage is very minable just the cable got knocked out, just a question of getting the screen off, without more damage, it might need new runners as well althrough it does seem fine.

you can sit there flaming me as much as you like, but I bet you have threw your phone in a temper....thats one thing, admiting it in public is another...there is two reasons for this thread, one seems the damage seems internal and only to that of the cable and the spring mechiniusm the fix should be a simple one, that will bring the phone back alive again. if it had heavy damage do you really think I would be writting about it, nope...it would have gone away already or they write it off or whatever they do for phones in that condstion. I will be very shocked it they write it off... to say the least

So they will probley send it in for repire? no?

Not if I can help it....i will not be using insurance if I can help it, hence this thread...I know what would happen if I try and claim...it will be sent away why did I even ask that....

So I ll ask again is there a way ( even if I have to take it to a phone shop for repire...oh wait ) to get that screen of and put that cable back into place which I persome is for the spring feel as well? rather than call someone you think is a nut just becasue he/she threw his/her phone onces, and don't give me the slagg off that you never done such a thing cos I bet you did) I m not going to flame you I bet there are a lot of users that have done so on here, but how many of you would admit it?

I rarely get angry, and when I do I don't reach for the nearest valuable object to throw across the room. I have self control.

Insurance covers accidental damage, throwing it in a temper is not accidental.

I've done it myself in the past albeit years ago but wouldn't entertain claiming for something that I purposefully destroyed.

Replacing the phone out of your own pocket is more expensive, but it's also a good incentive not todo it again!
 
I have an easy solution for you!

Throw said phone in the bin, and buy a new one.

Don't throw it at people/the wall and get help.

?!?!?!!

ah there are some nice people still awake...

the phone is insured its a good little phone, althrough I ll admit some things do any me not enough reason to throw it, with that said....

I could throw it in the bin...bit of a waste tbh I ll be more out of pocket buying a new phone anyway even with it in working state so were do i stand....I didn't mean to throw the phone the phone didn't deseve it but than gain, puching the wall can be said the same thing did the wall desve it no...it just has no feelings....and it hurts a lot more :p so you won't

yeah I won't do it again, I should get a stress ball or take my anger out on my racing bike ( not like that) aka get out and ride the thing...i do know the problem its all the pent up energy insdie plus things are not really going right...still no need to take it out on the poor trusty phone :(
 
You are not covered by insurance for this. You can try and claim, that makes you dishonest as well as petulant and aggressive. Your choice.

You can ask for a quote to repair it.

You could pick up a handset on the bay or similar.

heh, I just looked into the insurance properly ( sorting it out tomoz) in other words with the phones value if they write it off, its not worth the paper its written on. I didn't mean to throw it, I will maintain that, but just cos I did don't make me a nut or a physo... consdering that something like my formor now, my trusty little k800 is back with me :D if it was that it would have got away with it.... So older SE are better built than new. I m not rough with my phones at all. I just got insurance cos it was a £300 phone at the time, if it gets nicked or stolen I m screwed... its not like its a 2 month old phone and this is the second time I ve made a claim, so you know if I really wanted to break the phone I would have. but I don't I m lost without one as I use it for everything.

the insruance ends in about 7 days also just shows how much I actruly needed it, if they manage to repire it than fair enough...I can sell the phone when it gets back...or decide to keep it and see what phones come out...

the question was more than 12 words and its not really a rant I hate to see your rant. if you think mine was.. i did throw it, its my fault...yes I will have to part with money thats fine teach me a lession.
 
its fine, its gone away, I have my old k800. I m not too fused even carphone warehouse was like whats wrong with it, till they had a play with it and found the slide was not how it should be.

its inpossible to get a screen of without proper tools or going in from the back end and getting the runners off...but like I said, its fine...lession learnt get a stress ball.

and you guys was just hoping it was a rant, it was not really a rant at all, it was my fault, why would I rant about my past actions ?

heres the rant why the bloody hell does sim free phones cost more to buy out right than a bloody "branded one"? when carphone buys them in sims free anyways than bundles them up...and i was even told to my face they do that.
