Got flashed by speeding camera

Actually, it is their problem. Service is deemed within a statutory period. See Pepipoo for more details and check facts before attempting to contradict someone.
Only trying to help.

You missed my point though my fault in the wording. There is a allowance of Postal Lag as long as they issued it with the expectancy of it arriving within that time.

Unless I've completely misread it. And apologies for the poor wording/aggressiveness :)

Its going to be one of those just wait and see what happens, fingers crossed there was no film in the camera etc but worse case is likely going to be a letter in the post, a fine and some points on the licence which will probably lead to an increase in insurance costs but at the end of the day it is only money, and after x many years (think its 3 or 5) the points come off anyway so its by no means a permanent life altering event. Just try not to get too many more and all is good :-)

No worries, just don't want OP to take info here as Gospel, when there are experts on a specialist forum that are better tooled to help & advise :)

Is it true most cameras don't have film in them? Anyone got flashed but never received a fine?

I don't know about how many don't have film in however I have been flashed a couple of times, one at 60 in a 40 (similar mistake to you ... just didn't notice the change in limit) and never got anything through months on.

Sometimes you get lucky!
