Asus Striker II Formula Motherboard
Water cooling System
6 Fans
180Gb HD
320GB hd

of course needs a few parts but good enough to keep for gaming or should I sell it??

It WAS great at one time. Does it have a graphics card?

e: CPU is probably a QX6850

Hint: Someone on some auction site might give you over £100 for that chip.

Depends, if you're serious about having a gaming PC (I assume you don't already?) then probably not. You'll have to drop some money to do it properly. The CPU and board may fetch £150-200 due to scarcity, but they are not a patch on modern hardware.

Of course you CAN use the chip and board, but it isn't getting any younger. I'd shift it on while it has value myself

I'll point out that it's against the forum rules to sell/pricecheck hardware outside of the members market (see below) and I'd suggest having a look though the FAQ so you don't wind up with a ban. It's also forbidden to mention or link to competitors of OCUK

The members market is provided as a free service to active and contributing forum members. OcUK are not liable for any deals that are done in the Members Market, you are free to buy and sell at your own risk. Please read the rules of the Members Market before you proceed to make your first sale.

Access to the Members Market forum requires two things. Firstly, you will need to have over 1000 posts and have been signed up for at least 180 days. Please note that this does not mean you spam the forums simply to increase your posts, as this action will result in posts being deducted, and if you continue this behaviour, your account will eventually be banned/suspended. Once you reach 1000 posts, you will need to activate your trust. The Trust system is for Members Market feedback only and not to be used for general user comments. Abusing the trust system will not be tolerated and such abuse will result in your account being suspended/ banned. Trust activation is either found in your UserCP, or you can press the trust button that appears at the bottom of all your posts.

Once you satisfy both of these criteria, Members Market access will be granted within 24hrs. Please do not post on the forums asking why you cannot access the members market, if you have any queries, email one of the forum Dons/Admins. The contact addresses are available in the FAQ. There is no buying, or selling allowed outside of the Members Market.

No promotion of OcUK's competitors
We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwidth which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-
Posting links to competitors websites
Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
Disguising attempts to do any of the above

Welcome to the forums BTW ;)

I really can't say too much. I'd advise looking up the parts on an auction site to see what they are selling for.

It might be worth posting the whole specification of the machine so people can better advise you (the forum is quite quiet this time of night mind). I notice you don't mention RAM, power supply or a monitor. All the specifics are important - brands, capacity, resolution etc

It has a 1100W psu but thats blown so im getting a 550W, the ram is DDR2 but comes with non and ill use myn32" tv as my monitor :)

Edit: the processor theres only 4 on ebay they range from £180 - £205

If you look in completed listings, you can see what they actually sell for. It's under buying formats > choose more on the left hand side

Really no more price/sales talk please though

So you need some DDR2 and a GPU?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 OC Windforce 2X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £161.99
1 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BLS2CP2G2D80EBS1S00CEU) £49.99
Total : £223.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

DDR2 is much more expensive per GB than the newer DDR3, as it isn't in volume production any more. The 7850 2GB is one of the best value new GPUs on the market, it's really quite good for the money. Of course you can go cheaper but I wouldn't go more expensive for this system

Exactly what id do, infact this is pretty much how my sons Q6600 is at the moment overclocked to 3.4.

Have a read up about overclocking, if its got a decent watercooling system you could get a nice overclock out of it and make it a decent system.

£161 for a gfx wayyyyy over my price! Mines more like £30-40 Im not into high gaming for me, Football Manger, few shooter games, not like COD on high settings etc
