Got Hit, Proceedures in Claim?

i wasnt going to town center which marked the "right arrow" in the straight arrow as i was still continuing forward round the roundabout (were you can see the white car is on the round about is) as that was the lane i was travelling in

I think you are going to have to draw us a much better diagram :p

Out of interest where was that first photo taken, as i cant seem to find anywhere on that roundabout with dashed white lines that fit with that photo. There are some at the top but the road shown on the pic doesnt seem like it could be the one.

Im off out now for a meal ill pass this one onto others :p

hold on :p

its getting a bit all too confusing i know!

right, where the blue cross is, is where the accident happen and as i got hit i basically steered my car into the hatch lines (as i havent fully gone round the round about as you can see where the blue x is)

so when i got hit, i steered as quick as i could to the my left so my car wouldnt have collided the curb in front of me as you can see within that red circle, so before i could even fully go round the roundabout she hit me hence once on impact i turned to my left and i stopped straight away, put on my hazards, turned off my car and got out

that is why there are lines in the picture from the photos i took

It still looks like you were in the left hand lane, but turning right.

The left lane on that roundabout is for the road marked Western Way only from the markings on the road. However, she should also have been in that lane if she was wishing to go down that road.

I'd say, she was in the wrong lane, but so were you which resulted in you cutting her up.

Sorry chum it was your fault. You were in the wrong lane.

If you were going right you should have been in the right hand lane well before when you actually changed lanes.

Look at the lane markings:

You moved into her path, you collided. You can't say 'she hit you', it doesn't really work like that. She was probably in your blind spot.

Just put it down to experience.

Are you absolutley sure that image shows the right roundabout? It's just the photos look nothing like that one and everything like the big one where the A27 meets the M27.

You were in the wrong lane, that is about 1 min from my house that roundabout, the left lane is to go straight on and the right is for the rest of the exits.

. but this just proves to me that woman CAN NOT drive. and to the fact that she was wearing big bug eye sunglasses doesnt help.

I'd agree in that it appears you were both in the incorrect lane for where you wanted to go. It would be very hard to prove to the insurance company who was at fault so as said it is likely to go 50/50.

P.S A lot of women can drive;)

When it comes to taking your car into a bodyshop, if you want a good job doing make sure you select your own one and tell your insurance company where it is going. They can't force you to use their endorsed ones.

its the right round about

as you can see there are 2 lanes. outside lane you can go off, straight ahead, and turn right, and inner lane is to go round

Very good point!!!!

You sure you weren't here chap?

This thread is starting to fail.

no its nowhere near there, i carried on towards that direction after i got hit

Even if you were in the wrong lane she did still plow into you.

either she wasnt looking or she was going way too fast

if it comes down to 50/50 what would happen?

im sure there are compitent woman drivers, but very few ;)

hmm, i would have to check round where to get it done :(

you were in the wrong lane  the lane you are in as an arrow pointing straight on and it says "A27" which is straight on. Where she hit is where you'd normally filter over to the outisde of a roundabout to set up for the next exit, she was driving fine by the looks of it, and from the scribbles she wasnt aiming for the A27 exit either. you were just in the wrong lane

Be she was in the wrong lane too. If she came from the inside with the big arrows on the road showing you should go all the way round, to come off where she did was incorrect. However the OP looks like he was going too far round the roundabout to be in the left hand lane.

I got taught that if you wanted to take either the first or second exit you took the left hand lane at a roundabout, for all others further round you took the right hand lane with the OP did not, unless I am misinterpreting that picture.

you do see that the arrow has a straight ahead and a right arrow on the side of it right?

i wasnt even no where near that arrow i was where the blue cross was marked, how can you assume i was going towards the A27 if i havent even reached that point? i could have went round the round about in the same lane, i dont have to go into the inside lane to do that as the arrow markings on the road clearly have 2 arrows in one: ahead and round

she was either coming into the left lane from the inside hence thats i got hit on the driver side, otherwise she would have hit my back instead.

i wasnt trying or going into the inside lane as there is 2 lanes, i was on the outer lane so even so, how would/could i have collided into her at such an angle. the dent on the door is is deepest towards the front.

i got taught the same, outter lanes on round abouts are to "go off" inner lanes are to "go round" i was on the outter to go round then off but i didnt even get that far!
