Yes i can confirm they do not play pal region 0/2 dvds message just says this disc is pal cannot play hopefully all european disc will be the same format but if not its easy to get hold of american discs from the likes of movietyme.

Have you compared any HD-DVD with transport stream stuff? I'll be curious to compare the two to see how HD-DVD compares with broadcast HD.

My 3 to 4 year old basic cheap pioneer (DV-444) DVD player gives me a picture about 3 times better then my xbox360...

Don't waste your time or money, the scaler in your TV probably gives the same results as any of the cheap options.

Have to agree here. Unless you spend £200+, then any cheap upscaling player will hardly look any different. Either go for it big time, or not at all :D
