Got me some Moon Crabs

Crabs are evil little escape artists, given half a chance they will be out of the tank and feasting on your brains.

When I had crabs (oo-err missus) they were for ever climbing up the decorations in my tank and few escaped, and couldn't find their way back :(

I had to gaffer tape up the back of my tank to prevent them escaping.

Well i already keep Cray fish and they are escape artists along with the weather loach i have so i always tape up any hole at the back of my tanks.

These guys eat fresh fruit, dead fish and anything else really.

I have a heat lamp over the sand as this way they stay on the land the most.

They dont grow that big i think 3 inch carapace and 6 inc legs.

They like to be in groups and only attack each other if you starve them.

Their pinch is strong and they dont let go.

Also known as raindow crabs. They are fast little buggers and grow quite big. I would be careful how you feed them as they will fight for food and damage each other. Fantastic colours though. :)

I bought 3 red clawed crabs last week for my big tank.
The little buggers have already ate 2 of my cory cats (although I dont know if they were just eating the dead bodies of if they took a swipe in the middle of the night)

One of them shed the other day and left its shell in the middle of the tank and I thought it was a dead crab. It was only when I picked it out of the tank that I could tell it was a empty shell. " minutes later I saw it hiding in one of my plants

Same as these - they're called Cardiosoma armatum. They can actually get pretty big. I've seen some massive ones getting on for 20cm or more.

Here's one of mine from many moons ago.
