Just powered it on and its at 3.8GHz. I ordered the 4GHz option.

It will only let me select 20x as th multiplier? Any ideas?

It is the UD5, patriot bundle.

Thanks.

Thanks, so just enable turbo and I am good to go?

Also the ocuk bios profile just loads 2.66GHz settings.

It should all be set up. Try using CPU-Z to see the cpu speed and run prime95 for a min it should jump to 4.0ghz soon as you start it. If that dont work go into the bios F11 or F12 load from CMOS there should be a 4.0.OCUK profile in there :D

There is a ocuk profile but when i load it it just puts me to 2.66GHz settings.

Turbo is on and still no 21x multiplier. It just says 12-20x only. Strange.

Have they sent me the 3.8GHz bundle. It shows as 4GHz on my invoice.

it will only use the turbo under stress mate and will down clock on the desktop lightuse try the stress test above if not can you post a screenie of your bios i can give you my old 4.0ghz settings or you can post OCUK a webnote up to you fella

Use CPU-Z run Super pi>calculate 1M SETTING, you'll see THE CORE SPEED change to 4.011.2GHz in CPU-Z or there about's. It will be set at 191x20= 3.820GHz when the turbo setting come's in it will increase to 4.011.2GHz, hope this help's m8.

It installed win7 in about 8minutes lol. Awesome.

I will try what you said thanks. Is this how it works then, you cannot have 4GHz all the time?

i find it strange why ocuk will have all the power saving options in on a bundle of this power. If i want power saving i would have got an intel atom system lol

woah woah woah

there is nothing wrong with power saving
my rig sits at 4.3GHz but i dont need it to type to you on the forums, so i use speedstep to save power when im not doing something intensive

make sure you enable intel turbo boost tech in advanced bios features and not the TURBO/STANDARD/XTREME option on the main page

dont put 4ghz on all the time
the overclock was designed to give you power when it is required
you wouldnt drive your car at 100mph everywhere you went would you?
im only thinking of the planet and your electricity bill :)

I send the bundles out at 191X21 which is over 4ghz

it posts at 3.82GHz [191X20] and the extra multiplier is applied in windows when under load

please dont mess with the bios settings as it is a nightmare for me to support

if you have any further questions please contact me in the customer support section

yeah i got a mail back
this was the email i got back
Apologies, but At the moment we are awaiting the first I5 brackets.

By October we will be changing all the H50’s so they are compatible with I5.

As soon as I can get hold of an I5 bracket I will get you one.

My 4ghz bundle reads as 3.8 in the BIOS but comes out as 3.99 in CPUZ when under load...

Either way it's absolutely destroyed anything I've thrown at it so far. Except for prime95 which bluescreens it. And youtube which hard locks it occasionally. :(

edit:

Should mention I'm on windows7 and thus not surprised that certain things are a bit flaky - it was perfectly fine on an 8hr gaming marathon over the weekend :)

Then it doesn't sound stable to me. Not prime anyway, but if you use it for gaming as you said it's ok.

I got my 4ghz bundle last week (Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz @ 4.00GHz Max / Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 Motherboard / Corsair XMS3 6GB PC3-12800C9 DDR3 / Corsair H50 Bundle).
I'm having very similar problems to Banano. The PC will at random times BSOD or within games simply hard lock. The BSOD normally says MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION.
At first I thought it was down to the 500W power supply I had so I have switched that for a OCZ 850W unit and it's still doing the same.
I thought it must unfortunately be a issue with the board or CPU, but as someone else is having what sounds to be very similar problems then it must be down to something being wrong with the BIOS OC settings?.

My PC also crashes when trying to run Prime95 (it doesn't even start running anything).

At the moment I'm getting frustrated with my very expensive PC which keeps crashing and I'm tempted to undo all of the OC settings (but don't want too as I paid extra for the OC and expected a stable unit to be shipped to me).
