My slightly modded from spec Titan Thunder arrived and I love it, the work OC did - very happy with tower & cabling.

Been checking this 4.2Ghz stock overclock (5820k) in RealBench 2.43 under the stress test.

I think I may have made a slight misstep in not getting an AIO liquid cooler, I just kept the Alphenfohn Matterhorn Black Tower Cooler in my config.
When I stress test with 32Gb RAM, temps can sail pretty quick to 85c and nudged 90c on the hottest core (at that point I halted it) - everything looks OK on the PC nothing loose - CPU-Z shows 1.197V for the core voltage.

I suspect the CPU has too much heat for my air cooler with summer coming up I may have to back down to 4Ghz or get a H115i to fit in my 780T.

I did encode one movie and Handbrake got the CPU up to 85c too.

Does anyone have this CPU and Cooler combo too?

Don't have that cooler. You could either try:

1) Turning up fan speeds on the heatsink
2) Adding a 2nd fan for push pull on the heatsink
3) Getting a better cooler
4) Turning down the volts and/or overclock for better temperatures.

Case airflow will also contribute a lot to the cpu temps.

85c is hot, but CPUs with throttle if they get too toasty to save themselves from damage.

Thanks I'll check the BIOS just to see whats what.
Its a 780T and pretty damn clean so airflow is great.

An AIO cooler is going to have to be ordered, the good thing about that should be an increase in the overclock anyway if I get it.

Skt2011 can get that high, even on something like a H80 nevermind an air cooler if its overclocked. Get a decent AIO and it will be fine. To be honest tho even if its touching 90 Degrees the odd time its not an issue really.
