Got my self an interview \o/

First off, congrats!

Secondly, I've never heard of a company (unless it's travelling to another country) offering to pay for travelling expenses for the interview. Why would they pay for you if they might not employ you? :)

Good luck dude!

Nearly every job I have had to travel for has paid for expenses, both travel, and hotel if I have to stay overnight

Congrats by the way :)

Really?

I have never heard of a company NOT pay my full travel expenses for an interview (up to and including paying for accomodation in a hotal for the night before if the interview is early in the morning and im travling a long distance).

Dont broach the subject in the interview, call up and ask them in advance if there is a travel allowance - cant imagine a company objecting to this as its deemed an allowable expense of the company (they pay less corporation tax)

I had placement interview then interview for full time job and both gave me travel expenses (although I maybe only got that as I was offered the jobs!)

Now I don't mind working slightly unusual hours, but the description didn't made it clear how many hours a week it was in total. As long as its enough hours to give me enough money to live then i'll be happy.

I got a job once that I really wanted and took a pay cut and accepted some time consuming conditions. In hindsight I wished I had just gone for as much as possible and not sold myself short.

Dont think that you need to accept a lower offer because you really want the job, youll regret it later.

Wahey, another Londoner :D

Re: expenses - I found it varied from company to company, some will pay expenses some won't, although usually it's mentioned in the text of the interview. If it wasn't mentioned I never really thought to ask - always figured it's just one of those expenses you have to take on the chin when you're job hunting :)

Good luck with the interview :)

Im not going to drop stupidly low on conditions, but this really would be a good opportunity in a hard to enter industry. So as long as I basically get enough to be able to survive in London (Im aiming for £15k-£18k minimum) then im happy. Looking around it seems I can get a room for £500pcm which would be fine with me. Then when my GF moves down, look at getting somewhere a bit better.
