Well I got my xbox 360 yesterday after going to many shops, overall I am impressed with it. I've got it hooked up to my Dell 2405 with component and it's not sharpe as I would have expected but still look nices, and the shadows are very dark.
Will need to purchase a LCD in the future, also will have to get live running.

GOW, PGR3 Arcade unplugged, anyone else got there xbox hooked up to the Dell 2405? using VGA cable? is there much differents between the 2 ?
 
I would have hold off for the new Xbox's, with HDMI output. Really a bad move for MS, should have HDMI cable for existing model.

You might find the picture is better using the MS VGA cable on your 2405, that's what I use. The picture will be much sharper using VGA on this screen.

Now we are going to get this stupid **** for months. Exactly how long away is this new xbox. HDMI big frikin deal you dont even know it will give a better picture than VGA or Component for your own tastes.

It wont be any quieter despite all the bull that people seem to think it will. The dvd will still turn at 100 miles an hour.

I'd rather have months of gaming now instead of waiting for something that may or may not be any different. The hard drive is a non issue. That was bound to happen it happens with just about every PC in stores. You can't cry about it. If you need the extra buy one, if not so what.

Agreed. All the idiots thinking about buying one will no doubt think about waiting even longer now. Chances are it wont even be out for a year, the 360 is fine as it is and if you have 2nd thoughts due to this **** about 360 mk2 then you are in my eyes, stupid.

The same to all the people who go on about how loud it is. BIG DEAL! It makes absolute ZERO difference to the experience you get with the 360.

To you yes, but it's blindingly obvious that the world doesn't revolve around you. Quite a few people will be really put off by the noise.

Yeah, and the 2405 supports 1080p over VGA, whilst the component is limited to 1080i.

Thats not true, I use my 360 as my main DVD player now I have the HD player along side it, its annoyingly loud, although I can live with it. IMO the only downfall of the 360 and I hope they make a revised version. I'm jealous of the PS3 noise :(

I agree and I agree with what Kreee said too but the noise is primarily the dvd drive. Mine is sitting idling right now and the fans make a little noise but nothing like the noise as soon as I start gaming. A new revision isnt going to stop the dvd drive going at x12 or whatever it is.

Unless of course you want longer load times. The drive is no louder than my pioneer dvdrw player and no one complains about the noise from those.

who cares how loud the xbox is?

i certainly cant hear it when i got my 5.1 turned up so loud cant even hear myself scream when playing GOW :)
