I'd ignore it, so are the only bays you can get fined for parking in the yellow ones? Loads of places I've been to have blue and white ones so does that mean I can park in them? :D (I would never actually do this)

It depends on the signage afaik, but in a private car park it is the owner (or whoever has been given control of the car park by the owners) responsibility to make clear any charges that may be levied at you if you dont comply with a restriction

In a private car park you can have any number/type of restricted parking bays (staff only, directors only etc) however they're very rarely enforced, and can never be enforced to more than the value stated clearly near the specific space

I'm so glad there are sensible people out there (or rather, in here :D).

Definitely ignore it! The only parking tickets you shouldn't ignore are the official Police ones (for parking on double yellow lines etc).

that applies more to clamping, even with signs ( such as a supermarket car park ) they really cannot enforce a fine

ah right, i only know it from the other side, i.e. we're allowed to let people park in disabled spaces because it's on a private road, the rest was just based on normal practice, as you say in supermarkets etc
