Got some sound cards from work...

Sound Blaster Live! Value PCI CT4670

Creative Labs Creative Sound Blaster Live 1024 OEM CT4830

Both are old cards for starters, and they are OEM so getting drivers isn't going to be easy. The CT4830 is better than the CT4670, but I doubt either is a lot better than decent onboard sound these days.
No you can't use x-fi drivers!

Here is the irony, you could prolly get them both to work in Vista with the drivers here, but you haven't saiid what OS!
Getting drivers for XP is possible...

Wait a sec...does your CT4670 look like the card in that pic cos they made...

I'm using XP.

I thought you could get modded X-Fi drivers for older Creative cards? Or are these cards too old?

The CT4670 does look like the one in the pic.

I did read the number from the sticker, it's just a CT4670 (no additional P/X/L/etc) - they're not boxed or anything.

I just thought if they're half decent I'll stick on in my sister's PC rather than letting them get thrown out.

See thread...
Post by HSE.....I think you only need the ISO.

Those are about as modern as you'll get, and the CT4830 don't sound bad at all.

Hey i have the crappy Sound Blaster Live! CT4760 and im looking for some 5.1 surround sound speakers but i cant find out anywhere if this soundcard will support 5.1, does anyone know? If it doesnt il just spend the £25 or so on a new 5.1 soundcard but would like to be cheap if i can and not spend money on a new sound card if i dont have to. Any help would be awesome :D
