GoW 2 or Dead Space?

Gears if you've got friends playing it, with banter on multiplayer it's an excellent laugh. 5 player horde shacked up in the house on the river level, one with a rocket launcher, one with a torque bow, nades on the door - most fun.

Agreed the single player gets a bit dull, but we played it through on co-op which makes it a lot more interesting. It's definitely a gaming experience made better by sharing.

ohhhhh, sorry I completely missed what you meant, so you want to do away with scripted events like forced cut scenes.

i.e Oh look a massive monster, lets just stand here and watch it run towards us with an equally massive axe INSTEAD of getting out of the way or unloading a few mags into its face.

In that case, yes, I completely agree with you.

Deffinetly, I mean some sort of tell is required, like a very loud noise or a barrell hitting you in the head to tell you to turn the hell around, but forced cut scenes just remove the shock factor that can be achived in a dark scary atmosphere.

Deadspace does do this a bit, with a giant tenticle every few levels that whips out and grabs your leg, I paniced to hell the first time and died because I had no idea what I was supposed to do.

Minor spoiler in gameplay in this quote but that was live action and was interactive, I'm against pre rendered scenes that cut you out and are forced to watch ruining the mood of gameplay.

It's why I love Dead space so much as everything is in game and Cinematic a bit like Gears but scarier.

Dont re-call the setting so i cant say for 100% but i usual always do games on normal/med on first play through but i literally spent from morning till night on it as i had nothing else to do

Dead space is a good game - probably 12 hours on a normal play through. kinda scary with a few jumpy moments. Interesting enough story line.

Gears 2 has a way better single player campaign than 1 - its longer, more interesting and more epic. Gears 2 online isnt compeltely defunct. I've been enjoying it all week wirh the double xp online and the new DLC. It does take too long for the game to find a match but its not as broken as people seem to claim and can be a laugh online.

You should be able to pick each up for around £10 - £20 so get DS then get GOW2

Their both good games but Dead Space just nicks it i think as a SP experience. I'm on my second run through. In between Fallout 3's DLC and God of War on the PSP.

Aye I went through it 3 times just to get the upgrade on every single weapon XD, I cant say I've done that on many other games.
