guys I am looking for something to keep me busy for the next few days, was thinking about getting GOW 3, how entertaining is this game?

is it a long campaign? does it have a lot of unlockables? much replay value?

Cheers :)

Not the longest game try it on a decent difficulty though and its rewarding. Cant recommend the game enough though its absolutely epic! Get GOW Collection with it though.

Was about to start a new thread. Can pick this up for £15 but I've never played 1 or 2. Will I be missing out on anything by not playing them or is it ok to just go straight into 3?

I've heard this is similar to Dante's Inferno which I loved.

It's like Dantes Inferno but approximately 72 times better.

I'd recommend picking up the god of war collection if you haven't played the first two. It's the first two games but remastered to 720p with better audio, it can be picked up for a pittance.

Approximately 72 times better..Are you sure? :p

I haven't seen the collection anywhere locally to buy. I'll have a look online for it. Would it be better to play them in order or does it not matter?

The storylines follow but it's not as if it's The Godfather Trilogy; you would still 'get' the storyline without playing the first two.

The main reason i recommend the first two is simply this: They're better games. GoW 1+2 are in my eyes the definitive hack n slash games, they're utterly sublime. What made GoW3 so good was that it was the icing to the cake, the end of an era. It's still a great game, but knowing it was the climax of one of the greatest gaming trilogies ever made just made it feel a little more 'special'.

That may sound like utter bilge to many, but to see off one of the greatest anti-heroes in such style was an important moment in gaming for me.

I prefer GOW3 combat, levels, and feel to the others not so many frustrating things and not as much "filler" as 2 had. The Gow trilogy is possibly one of my favourite game series of all time, get the HD GOW collection not only does it set the scene for 3 they are both awesome games have flaws but Kratos is such badass.

Aww, I want to play some tonight but can only get 3 locally. Don't want to wait for the others to arrive, damnit!
