had a quick search but couldnt find this problem.. Im in need of some help!

tried to host a private game over xbox live and have been doing it everynight with my friend for about 2 weeks now, ive gone on tonight and its come up with the following message;

"You cannot host a multi-player game because of your firewall settings. Verify your firewalls security settings."

Now ive been through all my connections settings (PC + Xbox 360 Live) and everything is working normally and i dont current have any Firewall on my pc,

Can someone please explain how to correct this?

thanks in advance. :rolleyes:

I seen there was a new patch for it mayby that has something to do with it.

The patch has done something to make the online games more robust. IIRC you need to check your NAT settings (can be done on your router or the 360 network test). The network test has to report your NAT as being open IIRC.

Just stick the the IP address of the console in your routers DMZ Zone.
I did that (monday night) but I still get "connection the host lost" messages. Didn't try last night...

That message is a bit of a catch all. You get it when you try to connect to a full party IIRC.

But it may not be Your console/router at fault. Sometimes its the other console/router. Sometimes its just the random factor.

I could not connect to Miss K's game the other night despite being in the same house.
Some nights people can not connect to me for love nor money and I cant connect to them. But we have played in parties I have hosted plenty of times before and after.

Personally I think that Xbox live is sentient and likes to play with peoples minds. ;)

ill go along with that, i was playing an online game yesterday no problem, but when i go to host a private game it really doesnt like it.

Is that when trying to join a multiplayer?

If so, join games that show 1/8 players. The game browser is pretty slow to refresh so by the time you joing a 5/8 game for example, the lobby is already full and you get that message.

I always went to join games that were nearly full and got annoyed with that message all the time. Now I just look for 1/8. I generally find by the time I connect, 4 other people are there already and the game starts shortly after.
