One of my workmates decided to buy a gp2x last week.. and has asked me to set it up for him. He also bought a 2gb SD card too.. one that thankfully seems compatible!

However.. I can only get the SD card to work via connecting the gp2x via a usb cable to my pc.. it won't read from my card reader, which I find a little strange!

I can transfer files across but they are ridiculous speeds.. it took 45mins to transfer a 19MB file!!

Anyone have any info or solutions to this sorta problem as its got me stumped!

Cheers!

Found this, so something must be wrong.

"A window will automatically detect your device leaving you with the easy task of dragging and dropping your files to the GP2X. Transfer rates are specified at 480Mbps with the USB 2.0 protocol, so you wont have long to wait when jamming your GP2X with all sorts of homebrew and media files."

I guess the reason the SD wont work in your reader is the way the card is formatted, like plugging in a linux hard drive into windows. Are your USB2.0 drivers loaded / working correctly and are you using the front or rear USB ports.

Format the card in FAT32, no reason why the card reader wont work unless it's no compatible with that card or 2GB cards, so also maybe worth trying another.

I've not used the GP2X transfer, last I heard it was only running at USB1.1 speeds.
