I'm trying to partition my C drive so I can dual boot vista.
Using GParted I keep getting "can not shrink file system" error. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any way around it?

Do you have ntfsutils package installed, and is gparted compiled with NTFS support? Sometimes removing the pagefile and doing a defrag within Windows on the partition in question will help (ntfsresize on linux has difficulty moving files from the end of the filesystem to the start, when there is no contiguous space at the beginning)
