possibly the most buggy worthless pile of **** i've ever tried to use.

install Supcom 1+fa.

create gpgnet account, log in can't access vault to dl mods etc, try to use the chat for help "you are banned from gpg net main chat" wtf :/

After googling it seems you're banned till you add your games keys.

ok i think hmm game tool bar tab greyed out, ah find in options add path to the supcom exe, do that still no option to add the key (although can apparently try an star ta game in the game tab) still banned fro mchat so cant get help.

the posts on thier forums just point to a completely meaningless FAQ that doesn't answer the questions asked.

log out of gpgnet an log in oh look its completely forgoetten where my supcom exe is again an i'm right back to square one.

Still banned from chat so cant get any help.

tried updating to latest client still nothing.

I am slightly tempted to submit a feedback note of about 20 thousand lines of "**** you" copy pasted over and over.

and breath....

hmm now at random it just updated it's self again, now it at least remembers i have supcom, lets try again.

nope now it just logs in then after completing log on closes it's self :/

So now i cant even see the home page either.

back to square -1

i remember havin to faf about with supcom+fa... just wait till you uninstall it n get a new pc... gota go through it all again :P

but yea its not the best to use...

unfortunatly i cant remember what i did to get it working sorry :(

yep pink tahts what's happened finally got it working (although adding forged alliance makes it forget supcom1) and downloaded the amps i just couldn't be arsed to play.

Its awful to try and get game updates for supcom original. They never updated it as one item, so you have to update the program and the game several times in exactly the right order. Its awful awful awful.

Did I mention its . . . .

The Forged Alliance campaign is worth the effort though.

Why oh why didn't they release another expansion pack, with a crap load of similiarly epic missions? Screw the storyline, the gameplay was enough to carry the game on its own.

There was a second planned expansion "Experimentals", but the 2008 recession kind of screwed GPG, because THQ cut their budget drastically. A large number of staff were made redundant. The sales from Supreme Commander\Forged Alliance were wiped out by THQ losses elsewhere.

GPGnet's a seperate application. I'm going to reinstall now and report back with instructions.

I know. Last time I reinstalled supcom, I had to manually find some patch exe's as it wouldn't auto patch to the right version. It was a painful experience.

Okay, it seems you need to enter the path to the game manually using the options menu. Click in the white area to edit it.

There's a list of support links at the lower right of the GPGnet homepage as well. Give it 5-10 minutes logged in and it should start updating itself, then you can add Forged Alliance.
