That easy? Great!!
Games will over-ride desktop then?

It did when I had my Swift - still applies I hope![]()
Set Rivatuner to 144 or just below (read that some where)![]()

This is my thinking. If it is, set 120Hz on the desktop and that will lower the clocks and card temps.
144hz monitor?
Couldn't stand the tearing![]()
Run yours at a higher rate yet? Mine ran at 70hz no problem![]()
Temps on my GPU dont get higher when using 144hz? they no change vs 60hz or 120hz.
No tearing here and running at 72Hz
Didn't know you had a 980ti![]()
I dontbut its a GPU non the less I didn't know refresh rate effects some cards temps? I not experienced this before.
Ali, using Rivatuner to set just below refresh rate is a "trick" for Gsync monitors, and is pointless for non Gsync.
Also, does your card maintain 3D clocks when in idle? Mine does, and it appears to be an annoying Win10 issue. I've set my fan curve to 40% minimum as a workaround.
