not sure
Hi all I dont know how to make a poll but I was wondering how many of you have had a GPU where the barcode label they stick on the bottom of the card has fell of or is hanging off.

I know its a rare questio but I am in the process of trying to get my card fixed and they wont with out the sticker.

I said it aint got one there implying I took it off I mean why?

I said to them I have had cards with the sticker hanging off or has fell off when I had removed the card from the PC.

So how many of you have had loose or no sticker on your GPU`s?.

I have never had one fall off. It seems very picky if it doesn't have a barcode label though, as it will have a serial number somewhere (on the box?).

TBH I am getting depressed here lol.

Im off work have no money card packs in (long story but this aint the first card of theres).
And now they wont even honour this warrenty just because of a sticker I mean damn.

Oh well one day I will get some moneys and upgrade and I will stay away from XFX for sure.

I don't see how they can refuse it because of a label. It isn't even a security sticker. I would keep on at them.

Well they replied back and they aint gonna help at all.

This is really ??????? me off.

Like I have money to get a new card.

I have wrote a crappy reply back to them (not the best thing to do) but this is the second card.
they did not even help with the last one.
I want to kick em in the penuts.

LOL got a reply real fast this time.

They said there is no product with out a sticker LOLOLOLOL.

I said

"I have the card in front of me so to say there is no product with out a sticker is stupid
so I paid £140 odd for a sticker not the card"

I am real anoyed I know what to do to vent me anger make a youtube video of me beating the hell out of the card with a hammer :).

Pay per view of course then I can get another card LOL but not XFX.

so gave up on them.

That's what they want you to do.

Phone them, and tell them you want the card rma'd direct to them and don't mention the sticker.

Did your gpu have the 'void if removed' stickers on the screws, if so and they are still intact, then they don't have a leg to stand on in regards with you tampering with the card(under my presumption you haven't).

If they give you grief, tell them you are going to name and shame them in various forums, nobody likes bad press.

I cant ring them it would cost a fortune and tbh I refuse to spend any more money on them.

Emails should be a acceptable form of comunications these days lol.

Umm I cant see any void if removed sticker.

"under my presumption you haven't" nope took it out of box stuck it in machine and thats where it has sat since i got it

Manufacturers are usually going to require the serial number of the product so that they can ascertain the warranty status such as is it within the warranty period, was it purchased outside of the warranty coverage area, is the claimant not the original purchaer etc.

I can't find the specific XFX information but I imagine this from MSI is fairly typical:

Warranty Exclusions

The following circumstances excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Product damage caused by catastrophes, thunder stroke, faulty electric power and environmental factors.
  • Defacing of product labeling (label alterations and falsifying, serial number missing, serial number no longer discernible, serial number invalid). All serial numbers are recorded and tracked for warranty purposes
  • Unauthorized changes of non MSI parts, modifications or alterations , parts removal in or to the products
  • Damage caused by operator error or operator fails to comply user manual instruction, such as , but not limited to improper storage resulting in product get wet, corrosion, fell off, squeezed or exposed to inadequate temperature/humid environment.
  • Internal or external consumable items of the product itself such as battery, earphone, etc.
  • Accessories or packing material such as boxes, user manual ,etc

You might as well try every avenue but they do require the serial number for a reason.
