GPU barcode labels

Place homer graphic here LOL

DOH

If the label is that important to warrenty they should stick em on better tbh though I suspect they know they fall off so ya have to purchase another one.

write to the retailer via registered post giving them 14 days to reply, if they don't, report them to trading standards

I personally wouldn't let £140 just go down the drain, but that's just me

Same issue, 2 HIS cards

1 broken HIS card rejected due to no barcode sticker. And boy were they rude about it when I called to question this.

Sold the other card (they were in Crossfire) to a mate, so I asked him to send me a photo of the back of that card. Also no sticker.

Next step, written complaint.

Meh they wont help me they keep palming me off dead end TBH.

I am staying away from XFX for sure now there warrenty is rubbish.
Its not just that they just dont want to know it feels like.

Bad news D, sorry to hear. I can understand their point but at least make sure the label is stuck properly in the first place.

Would be better if it was just engraved/printed on the cooler or something.

Abit annoying as it's not something you could have prevented. (Although they've probably saved a lot of money on cards where this has happened)

Almost every card ive owned, the bar code sticker has fallen off over time due to heat. I saved them away just incase the need arose for rma. Though one did fall of a card i had and get sucked into a case fan where it got shredded. Ideally the manufacturers should put the sticker on the cooler shroud. Much better chance of it staying on compared to the pcb.

Or printed directly to the PCB, if it's so very important.

That would make sense wouldn't it? Stickers falling off isn't uncommon which is a bit daft really and shouldn't give manufacturers a 'get out of jail free' card. If they don't take adequate steps to keep them in place then the onus should be on them to prove the card is out of warranty.

Question for the OP - what card do you have? Presumably companies like XFX cover their cards for 1-2 years so if it's something fairly recent (e.g. 7850) that's only been on the market for < 1 year then the lack of a sticker is kind of academic...regardless of when it was bought it'd still be within the warranty. Whilst XFX might still not play ball it'd hopefully give you the option to pursue them via other channels e.g. small claims.

Might be worth ringing the Citizens Advice consumer helpline (they took over from Consumer Direct earlier this year) to see what they can suggest and to clarify your rights.

As above,go the legal route, did you pay by cc,have a word with them, computers generate heat, gpu's in particular, even the thermal paste dries out and loses it's effectivness over time(usually 13 months lol),so how is a poxy sticker supposed to stay on?.

Sorry to bring this thing back to life, but yesterday marked the '14 days to respond' deadline to my letter without a peep. And yes, I did send it by recorded delivery.

I guess they're calling my bluff.

Now I have to find out how to get a court summons from Small Claims.

Result

Sorry for the thread revival. But news:

Took a claim through www.moneyclaim.gov.uk to make them budge.

Who is the retailer? I really shouldn't say.

Edit: I'm actually not going to say who it was, sorry.
