hi
ok so i installed a new kfa2 gtx580, it didnt go too well but anyways it works now;

however when i boot my pc, before i get the usual motherboard bios version screen,
before this i see a message in corner saying something like gtx580 vbios v3622 (something like that.
I have never seen anything like that before the actual mobo bios screen on cold boot.
should i be alarmed? has anyone seen this before is it normal? thanks

yes its normal.

in the olden days you always saw that screen before your BIOS screen but nowadays less so as your monitor has usually not come on or registered the signal till just before the BIOS screen appears.

here is a Cirrus Logic 5422 VGA card circa 1992

ah thanks, tbh i havent had that many systems (maybe used six gpu's overall) it just alarmed me a bit as i have never seen it before and thought maybe it was possible symptom of a previous user modifying the bios.

Out of curiosty is there anyone out there using modern card such as gtx500 that also sees that message?

I see it when i boot up my dads computer thats on a 5770 he ran out of dosh for a proper mother board and got the cheapest, slowest so the boot up takes about as much time as my computer even thou he has an SSD.

Normally these days its past that stage before your monitor flicks on.
