GPU Core update.

Aaargh, just how many of you chaps have splashed out on x1900xt's?!!!!? I feel so rubbish with my 3 little cpu folders, I'm seriously thinking about upgrading the entire lot in a fit of Stan-inspired madness...... I can't believe I've only just really noticed this gpu-folding-malarky.

So, what are we talking for the new Intel cpu-thingamy, decent mb, 2gb of ram and a wonderful new gfx card?

If you have to ask, you can't afford it  :p

Edit:

Based on the this weeks offers -E6300 Allendale OEM, Arctic Freezer 7 CPU fan, Abit AB9 motherboard, OCZ PC 6400 2GB RAM and Connect 3D X1900 £567.47inc VAT + delivery

But I'm no expert so don't know what sort of setup that would actually give you and if it were totally compatible. And of course if it's a new system rather than an upgrade you've got other bit's and bobs to consider too.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 £97.99
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 £91.99
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 £164.99
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT £139.99

Subtotal £494.96
Total £581.58

Kick ass machine there.

Save some money and get the Gigabyte S3 - it is EXACTLY the same as the DS3 but with standard capacitors and not Solid State thingies. The only difference between the boards is how long they will last...

The S3 - 3-4 years
DS3 - 5+ years.

Now i've never owned a computer for more than 4 years so I don't see it as an issue. The boards also perform exactly the same in overclocking etc.

hey, my 3 backup crunchers are snarling at you, their all 5 years +!!!

tbh, get the gigabyte, and a 6300, but get a good PSU and a ninja, expect BIG clocks (I did 3.15 on air so far, and thats ME!) also the Geil rams good for this too.
