what do you lot think is it GPU going? i haven't installed/removed/changed/modified anything from HW/Software

now my gpu did this before and i have removed the cooler and reapplied new thermal paste and reinstalled it back again and it worked fine for ~6 months :)

its 8800gt 512 mb bought in 2008/09/xx

i guess new gpu time? if so i need something temp i have got 3850 sitting around as a temp card so i need a good driver sweeper any recommendations ?

ha the good old 8800... i had one, lasted me years!

Right this is a common problem, what is happening is the card has failed and it is artefacts you see on the screen.

you could try uninstalling then reinstalling the drivers but that usually doesn't help. only way around these old cards is too bake them.. basically stick them in the oven on 200C/gas mark 6/7 with the cooler off and TIM cleaned off with the gpu core facing down on a foiled tray for 8/10 mins. This fixed mine and it still works. Could do this for now but YEA get a new gpu dude!

yeah its the gpu.. installed my temp 3850 and pc never crashes since.. :o

ill just wrap it in a box and hang in on a wall lol..

thanks.
