GPU fault possibly?

PC in general works fine until I load up a game. Been getting worse the last few days.

I noticed today that adjusting the system volume crashes it every time. This is what happens in the video.

The GPU drivers are crashing, the game crashes, AMD Radeon Software disappears from the right click menu, and device manager shows code 43 for the GPU.

Fine again once I reboot.

I've uuninstalled afterburner, MSI gaming app thing, and tried DDU several times.

GPU dead? Bad drivers? Any ideas?

When trying to open the Radeon software from the notification area, I get a warning message;

No AMD graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware.

Think I've sorted it, it only does this when I have FreeSync enabled. Now I've just got to find out why this is happening
