gpu faulty

hi all about a week ago i purchased a pc the titan nero it was on offer with the 1024 gb graphic card.

i installed xp and played arma 2 ran great for the price of the system.

me bro came to pick it up next day as it was his he used it a few times then rang me saying when he turned it on there was weird markings on the screen even on the bios screen so i had a look and yes there was i knew straight away it was gpu so i shut it down pluged it into the onboard gpu and it went away so i shut it down yet again and used the ati card again and it was ok so he went home.

he rang me up as soon as he got back it was doing it again so like i realy thought gpu is borked.

im going to do more testing tomorrow with an x1950pro i have if it dont do it again then his card is fubar.

what i need to know is will OCUK allow me to send just the buggerd gpu back or will they want the whole pc back? i hope its just gpu me bro needs the pc for invoicing

p.s his gpu is an ati 4850 1GB.(was on offer with the nero system a week ago or so).

Stick it in another machine to test, if it does the same its definatly the gpu. Then you can send it back to ocuk.

suppose thats the best way stic gpu in another pc but i aint got an ati pc setup i aint messing with my gameing rig so will have to do it other way around use diff gpu in his pc.

What do you mean you don't have an ati PC setup?!?

Why can't you just pull the graphics card out of your gaming rig and install your brothers new ATI card that you think is damaged...

It would make more sense to do things this way rather than installing a completely different card into his machine...

Your PC isn't going to get damaged from testing his card out on it!!!

All you will have to do is remove the drivers for your card (which I am assuming is an nVidia card?) and then shut down, pull your current card out, and fit the ATI card and then install the latest ATI drivers...

hi all well me bro came round with pc i removed gpu and fitted me spare x1950pro all seems good we did a load of gpu tests and all is well.

ive just requested an RMA on the main website fingers crossed i can send just the faulty gpu back.
