Ok, Got my new ati 1950 today, with the intention of doing some folding on it. I have downloaded the correct drivers 6.10. I have installed ati tray tools, with the intention of setting it on to 3d mode manualy. But im stuffed if I can do it. I have followed a guide, but when I click on hardware, I have no 2d/3d detection.

I have still started the gpu, but im assuming it is in 2d mode. Can anbody help me to change it into 3d mode.

I'm afraid that I won't be much help as I now use ATITool for my OC. I just couldn't get Tray tools to like my setup.

I'm not sure if this is the guide you followed (it probably is) but Concorde has a nice ATI tray tools OC guide here that may be of help.

6.10s don't support X1950 Pros well IIRC and there is no voltage control that can be accessed so far so overclocking is out apart from CCC and I don't think the situation has changed since a few weeks ago :(

Changed back to 6.5 drivers, but my 1950 did not like them. I noticed on the ATI website that 6.10 does support my 1950 pro, so I installed them again. Still no luck on the ATI tool tray problem, but looking on the FAH website other 1950 users are getting similar unit times to mine. So Im assuming 13 minutes a frame is ok

From the thread you posted in over there a lot of people seem to be going for the 6.11 driver though I think that may only come with the card rather than being downloadable - what did you get on the CD (if you got one with it)

Not sure without checking, but I did try them, but all I got was some eue. So i guessed i best go back to 6.10.

Just checked, 6.13

Just tried updating my drivers as I was seeing problems in some games.

Looking at the ATI site they have released version 7.1 presumably a new numbering series to replace the 6xxx. Stanford expected the 7 series stuff to work looking at their GPU FAQ, but I'm seeing EUEs virtually continuously with the current beta client 5.91 beta 3, on an 1950XT-X. Am I the only one with these issues. Looks like you can only use the 6.6, 6.10 or 6.11 drivers :(

hmm, looks like stickys and FAQ's need to both be kept current then :( I tend to rely on FAQ type stuff as being the more definitive rather than lots of questions and answers buried in forums- unless of course those questions and answers are buried on OcUK ;)
