Got any proof of that? Most games are so incredibly GPU bound that you could happily use a dual core Intel Pentium. A 4-core Ph4 shouldn't be holding it back.

Are you serious? Try playing Fallout 4, Battlefield 4 multiplayer, etc and see how you get on. Will they work? Yes. Will the x4 bottleneck a 7970? Absolutely.

The Phenom X4 is old and slow. Yes, it will get by in many games, but in the latest demanding games, it's weak.

Those of you suggesting a R7 250 I suggest you look at the link he provided.

The link is not accurate. It says the R7 250 cannot play the latest Sims 3expansions...which is total rubbish!

You do realise we are talking about a game where the minimum requirement is an X1300 or 6600 non-GT? Use your head here.

Cards that were popular literally ten years ago. In fact the X1300 was a budget card even ten years ago. I used to play Battlefield 2 on one. The card is that old, and it can run the Sims.

An R7 250 will run the game at whatever the ultra settings is for Sims 3 and Sims 4 without breaking a sweat.

If you want to spend less you'll pick up a 7850/70 for less than £50 on here (seen a few times) and it should breeze any recent sims.
