Hello,
I currently have a Radeon HD 5830 GPU and when I turn my PC on every time it takes about 15 seconds to decide to come on and then a further 20 seconds before it starts to display the POST screen and boot up. you can hear the fans going in the PC before the POST screen appears and the lights on the front of the case.
I have owned the card from new (brought from OCUK in 2011) and its been happening since day one
my PC specs are as follows
Asus P6X58D-E Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366)
Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMP6GX3M3A1600C7)
Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020061-UK)
Samsung Evo 256GB SSD
over the years I have replaced the PSU, Motherboard, Processor, ram, HDD and the GPU is the last thing to replace. I had the same issue on both setups, my old system was a AMD build with 4GB of ram and a 450w PSU.
I originally thought it was the PSU and would sort the issue but it still remains.
I have just put up with it and to be honest I was wondering if anyone knew what the issue could be at all
