Hey guys,

Starting having wierd issues with my PC and its pointing towards a GPU issue I think.

I bought Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Xtreme 11264MB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card end of Nov 2019.

All has been fine until today, Started getting artifacting in World of Warcraft BFA and the screen just flashing to black repeatidly. The only thing that seemed to fix it was to turn ON V-sync. I have also had a couple of times when I start the PC up the 'Aorus' screen (As I have a Aorus Motherboard) that pops up before you load into windows has artifacting all over it.

Also I have LG 34GK950F 34" 3440x1440 NANO IPS FreeSync 2 HDR 144Hz 1ms Curved Widescreen LED Monitor and for some reason since I am having the issues it is stuck at 60hz, There is no way for me to change it to 144hz in any settings in windows or the monitor OSD/Menu's (It was running at 144hz before the issues started).

I am having no temp issues with the GPU, fresh installed GPU drivers etc and am puzzled as to what could be the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Carl

V-Sync would cap the FPS at 60, so it sounds like your card can't handle higher workloads without artifacting, I had this issue with a 1080Ti, had to RMA it, got progressively worse over time.

Odd. Normally artifacts means the video card is on the way out, but the fact that 144Hz has disappeared hints more towards the monitor. The fact that 144Hz has disappeared may well mean that at some point Windows has decided it's a new monitor and read the info from it and got it all wrong. It may be worth tracking down the info and deleting it, forcing Windows to read it again. Now I am not an expert at this, I just know it is possible. Hopefully there will be others here who know how. I believe you need to find and delete the EDID data in the registry.
