Hey all,

i never thought of this before, not sure why. however i was doing some Testing across the weekend to make my new PC slient as possible whilst getting the Best GPU/CPU Temps.
I also pulled out some different monitors.

What i found was a Fairly big difference in GPU Temps depending on the resolution.

Testing
1800X/1080TI/2933mhz Ram
Room temp 20C (A/C controlled)

All tested Together (after each round i swapped monitors, no reboots)
Reset the settings to correct Resolution
All Settings were Maxed

Battlefield 1 - Fort Map (Infantry) 1 Entire Round Max Refresh -
ASUS PG278Q - 2560x1440 - Low 71C Average 72C Max 74C Frame Limit 144
ASUS PG27AQ - 3840x2160 - Low 74C Average 79C Max 83C Frame Limit 120 (barely got to 60)
Acer X34A - 3440x1440 - Low 74C Average 76C Max 77C Frame Limit 100

i got more Info to add later, just thought id post my findings so far.

Wow, when GPU's work harder they get hotter! Who knew?

:)
whilst true, its interesting because even though 2560x1440 is pumping out more 44 more frames its still cooler than 100 frames at ultra wide.
they both sit at 99% GPU usage maybe the power is lighter on non UW. from a silent testing aspect its pretty huge. 10C difference depending on Resolution alone!

what i'm interested to see now, is what reviewers do. do they ensure 100% load? and what resolution
