Gpu not being detected by new mobo

Have installed and setup an Asrock Z270 itx board but upon connecting my 1080 it is not recognised and having reseated it numerous times still no luck, card lights up fine etc.

7700k
16gb gskill ddr4 3200
700w psu
Asus 1080 strix

Any thoughts on why it's not being recognised?

Standard fix is a bios update for the motherboard.

Cable plugged into card and not onboard hdmi?

Thanks I might have to try that then. Cable currently plugged into onboard as no output from card. Not seeing it in device manager and when I tried to install gpu drivers it's saying no supported product.

Thanks it's now working! Does seem odd a new mobo wouldn't support an eight month old card
