GPU POST fail - B2 - UPDATE

I finally got round to building my new PC, and switching it on I get nothing on the screen. All the fans start up and everything looks normal but it never POSTs. The monitor comes out of standby but then immediately goes back in.

The status display on the mobo reads B2, and the LED indicating a GPU issue is lit. Specs below:

AMD FX 9590, 8gb Ballistix tracer RAM, Sapphire Radeon 290X, Corsair AX850 PSU, Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z, Creative Soundblaster Z.

I have tried clearing CMOS, updating BIOS via USB and removing the sound card. Looking at Google it seems most people with a similar issue have faulty GPUs.

Yep you were right. Put my old 7970 in and it boots fine. I've sent an RMA request.

I think I've had to RMA more stuff this past year than the rest of my life before that.

UPDATE

So after trying everything to get the card working, and then trying a couple of other cards which worked perfectly, I sent an RMA request.

Just had a reply back saying "no fault found". WTF? Now I have to pay almost £40 and have back an expensive paperweight.
