Hey,
First time posting. I am looking for some advice really in regards to upgrading my graphics card.

Missus brought me an Aurora R7 a few years ago now. Currently I have an Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB graphics card. Im looking to upgrade this to a 3060/3070. Can anyone suggest another graphics card and if I will need to change the PSU to support the change of graphics card? Current PSU is a 460w

If there is anything else you need to know let me know

Thank you

Hi

You will be lucky to get a graphics card at the moment due to availability but a decent 650w psu would cover upgrades up to a 3080.

Thank you both, yeah i spent an hour looking lastnight and cant believe there is barely any out there. Might get a PSU then and wait for the RTX 3060/3070/3080. spread the cost too lol

Silly question but if i just look at the specs for my PSU (Size) and then look for one similar but with more wattage, is there anything else i should look at before i buy one?

Thanks again

Modular means the cables are not stuck connected to the psu you will get a set of cables to add as you need. Psu gold rated getting a decent quality with a long warranty would be between £80 to £100.

As for size the limitations is due to the case what case fo you have ?

Corsair tx or rm are good choices.

Not bad.

Adding a large ssd 1tb maybe would be a good option to you put games on for the fastest loading times.

thanks, its nearly 3 years old now but doing its job. i upgraded the RAM in October from 1 8gb stick to 2 sticks.

Ok, ill have a look at that.

So my to do list is PSU, GPU and a SSD lol

If you are considering a 3080 then I understand that nvidia recommends a 750watt psu, you could likely get away with a 650watt but a 750 would have less strain on it. This has 10 year warranty and is in stock
▷ Corsair RMx Series RMx750 750W '80 Plus Gold'… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

As you said measure your case to check it fits, some manufacturers don't use standard atx psu so the size and holes in the case for the psu might not be standard atx psu size

Thank you, that was one of the ones i was looking at. especially as it is in stock

Guess ill have to wait a while for a new graphics card. Doesnt seem to be any time frames on when they will be stocked back up
