hey everyone, was wondering if you could recommend me a graphics card both nvidia/amd heres my specs of pc atm (budget £150) maybe slightly more

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i3 4170 @ 3.70GHz (i5 at later date)
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 (9-9-9-24) (soon to be 8gb)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z87-PRO (SOCKET 1150) (soon to be z97)
Graphics
BenQ GL2450H (1920x1080@59Hz) (1080p for now but likely to go ultrawide monitor)
Intel HD Graphics 4400 (ASUStek Computer Inc)

psu
corsair cx500m 500 watt

i was looking at this graphics card has anyone had any experience with it? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kfa2...i-express-graphics-card-retail-gx-085-kf.html but recommendations would be helpful

The GTX 960 is a great card, though if I was going for one I would try and aim for a model with a better cooler (to be fair I haven't read reviews of that one, so it might be okay / I don't see it being a loud card tbh).

The R9 380 is faster however, and sometimes by a reasonable margin. I would say it's the best value for money card in this price segment. Ones that catch my eye are :

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/xfx-...ess-graphics-card-r9-380p-4df5-gx-228-xf.html

Edit : of course, I should mention that going second hand will yield even better value for money. :)

funny you should mention them as they were the 2 i kept looking at, my main concern is my psu its 500 watts (but only 456watts 12v rail) and i see them cards are 190w tdp i get confused with tdp and whether my psu will be ok with them

Sorry, I completely missed your psu spec. Tbh, I'm not the person to ask about in depth psu questions, though my opinion is that you should be okay, but ideally I would look to getting a better unit. I think AMD recommend a 550 watt power supply for these cards, and although companies often over estimate on purpose, I don't think you'll have much leeway.

See what other folk suggest. :)

if i was going to that price range with my psu i might just go nvidia unless someone else can chime in on whether i can use these with my current psu

The GTX 960 will certainly be a better choice in terms of power requirements. It'll handle 1080p just fine. Take a gander at this :

the 380 is abit more power hungry and i cant afford to upgrade psu at present, when i get a gpu it will be the only one i get for a while lol decisions decisions lol

500 watt is more than enough, the card under load takes about 180watt, total system should be from 250 to 300watt, so you still gonna have 200watt to spare.
