My GPU usually idles at 28c, however today its about 38c. Both fans spinning normally. Any ideas ?
I noticed something was odd when gaming, the fans were spinning faster

The only thing that's changed is upgrading to a 144hz monitor.

Yeah some drivers for my monitor

OK after some reading, it's normal for Nvidia GPUS to get hotter at higher refresh rates

well yeah if its putting out 60 fps its not working as hard as if you are making it push 144, thats the same for anything if you make it work harder it gets hotter :D

same for when i used to run multimonitor at all times hooking up then second monitor had the card 5 degrees warmer than single screen

Ok thanks.

Looking at the picture does the GPU clock and mem clock look normal for idle ?
Should be down clocking when idle unless you have it set to max performance in the nvidia control panel, optimal or w/e it's called is the setting you want.

I just remembered....

I also changed the power mode in the nvidia control panel to high performance rather than standard. And also enabled v sync Could be why

Put performance mode to normal, switched to 60hz and it went right down to 28c. So at least now I know it is the refresh rate and performance mode.
