Afternoon all.

I'm in the process of overclocking my 7970 using afterburner and Heaven. I have maxed heavens setting, including the tessellation distance in the in-engine settings when the benchmark is actually running. This drops my framerate to about 10fps, so I am assuming that this will be stressing my GPU to the max?

However, right now I am checking my graphics cards memory. I am assuming that max tessellation will stress test my core, not my mempory? How can I stress my GPU memory?

(Or, if it is the other way around, how can I stress test my core?)

I think the only way to properly test the memory is to actually game (without vSync or frame limiters). I've had unstable memory clocks pass the Unigines and FurMark because I think these are more stressing the core. However, as soon as I would jump into Crysis 2 or Battefield 3, the system would crash with a grey screen. So I think the only way to validate a memory overclock is to test it in real games.
