Hi all,

I bought an old computer off a friend that currently has an Nvidea 650 GTX, and I'm looking to upgrade it. I don't need anything super flashy, in fact if possible would like to keep my budget to around £150. I just have a few city builder games I'd like to be able to run at a higher graphics option than "low"...

Entering the world of graphics cards is a bit scarier than I thought it might be, baring in mind I have little knowledge on the subject.

What would people recommend as a reasonable step up?

I'm running it with an Intel i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz with 16GB RAM

Thanks :)

If new, then a rx 570 for £110-120. rx 580 for around £145, or gtx 1650 super for about £155. Used is up to you, but the general consensus is that an rx 580 or gtx 1060 for around £100 is what you should be aiming for. Aiming any higher than this will start to introduce a noticeable cpu bottleneck.

You will need to make sure your psu is decent enough and up to the task of powering a modern gpu though.
