Hi all, first time here so thanks for any help.

I would like to upgrade my graphics card, but with all the options i'm unsure what would be best or if its even worth it at the moment. I have a limited understanding of some of the spec's on these new GPU's, but I feel it's not enough to commit to a purchase.

I currently have a GeForce GTX Titan X (12239Mb VRAM). I couldnt tell you its exact age, I bought it many years ago when I was even less in the know about what to get lol.

This may sound silly, but i'm really looking forward to playing Cyberpunk 2077 and I really want to take advantage of the ray tracing.

Hope this is clear, thanks again for any help ^^

I hadn't really considered price yet. I was hoping to see what the suggestions would be as a upgrade to the current card and going from there. As to the resolution, most games I play tend to be my desktop resolution which is set to 1920x1080. I believe my monitor supports much higher though.

Something like a 3070 would be a good upgrade, gets you into the latest gen. Problem is going to be getting hold of one. AMD cards out next week so could always wait to see the benchmarks for those.

Why would you choose to game at a lower resolution to what your monitor supports?

Yeah, that and the 3080 are what i've been looking at. So it's not worth looking at the 20 series anymore as a possible upgrade? Just go straight for the 30 series, as you say, if I can get one lol.

20 series still good and you may be able to grab a good deal but at that sort of money I'd probably want the latest.

Price/performance on the 20 series is not great now the 30 series is out. 3070 (bought mine for £519) is on a par with 2080Ti (£1400!) albeit with less vRAM. For me that makes anything from the 2070 upwards a pretty poor deal now.

Thats great guys. I feel better about losing the titan now, thank you very much for the advice.
