I am hoping to upgrade from my current ATI HD 5770 to an Nvidia 560Ti but only have a Q6600 2.4ghz Stock. I was wondering if I would be bottlenecked and not see any good an improvement over the 5770. All information is appreciated.

Thanks, Antony

mate there is no bottleneck

bottleneck is only for vantage

just run vintage on 980x and on q6600

u will get same gpu score i mean only gpu score 25k

so upgrade to 560 Ti

Have you tried overclocking your q6600? You may find you would be better of selling your current CPU and mobo, and put the money to along with the money you have for the gtx560 towards a sandy bridge upgrade.

Upgrading would cost to much, Motherboard, CPU, RAM and a 560Ti would be around £500 and it's not really justified. I have tried getting it to 3.2ghz but had no idea what I was doing and only have a stock cooler.

Thanks, Antony

try selling your hd5770 and use the money to fund a third party cooler.
there are many videos on youtube on how to overclock, i think theres also a sticky on the CPU sub-forum.

I can afford a cooler as well as a GPU, I just wanted to know that on stock 2.4ghz would I actually see better fps is games over my 5770. And if so what cooler would be good? I have an Asus P5Q, Q6600 and an NZXT Phantom case.

Thanks, Antony

So I should be okay running it overlocked at 3.2ghz with that? And Will I be okay spending money on a new card? Will I see much of an FPS improvement.

Thanks, Antony

man look at my sig i have shop in mu country and testing any new gpu and i know what i am sayng just spend all money on new gpu thats all

nor cooler nor ram nor cpu will give u any fps

For your information, my OC Q6600 slighty bottlenecks my 5870. How do I know this, because any overlclock on the 5870 yields no performance results in real-time game or benchmarks.

However, if I change the core speed of the CPU, this allows more data through put and the 5870 overclocks better.
