Plus you get the also get the instant response of EVGA staff. The customer service alone IMO is worth the extra money over other brands. I just hope they don't get 'too big for thier boots' and service goes downhill
 
No you don't need a receipt. I didnt need a receipt when i registered my 980ti, just selected place of purchase (ebay)
A new sealed 970 SC will be a much better card at 1080p as will have more overclock head room and out the box be clocked higher than a standard 970. That said, reading reviews the 390 sounds like a great card too for the money - do evga sell the 390 or only Nvidia? (Ie for the good warranty and service in general)
