Hello all,

At the moment I have Saphire X1950 Pro (512 meg) feeding a 20" NEC Multisync 20WGX monitor. Maximum fps is 60, due to the refresh rate.

Other sys.specs: Gigabyte DS4/[email protected]/4gig Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz (4x1gig sticks)/OCZ 420W psu.

My question is this: Would I see any benefit if I replaced the X1950 Pro with
a OcUK GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) Retail?

Would I be able to max out all/most games ?

Be most grateful if you guys would share you'r opinions.

Thanks to all who reply.

I would say most definitely, it would nicely along side your CPU and complement it nicely :).

Not sure if your PSU will take it though, I'm not sure what the rails are like on that one you have.

Vertical sync limits a game to 60 fps never heard of 60hz limiting a game to 60 fps though.
The 1950 pro is far more power hungry than an 8800 the 1950 recommends 28a on the 12v rail more likely 30a if they told the truth so 8800 will be fine if your 1950 is fine on that psu.
