GPU Upgrade?

Currently have the following:

4670k @ 4.2Ghz
16GB Hyper x 2400mhz
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 680 WindForce 3x OC 2048MB

Game @ 1080P (120hz)

Currently play far cry primal,ark,csgo,rainbow six siege and maybe the division.

Noticed that my 680 is starting to struggle especially with Ark.

I currently have a corsair 600 watt psu. I Can upgrade that aswell if need be.

Your psu will be fine for either of those.

Which of those is better. I am abit behind with newer tech these days. the 390 has 8gb? Should this be a factor?

Personally, I tend to go along with the school of thought that says gpu muscle will fall short quite a long way before the memory comes into question, though of course there may be exceptions.

If you like to play very heavily modded games, then yes, the 390 will have an advantage there, but the thing is I've seldom read about anyone running into issues with the 970 - providing they aren't expecting it to tackle something ridiculous like 4K.

Ultimately, I don't think you'll go wrong with either. Both are great cards from the lower tier of the high end video card market.
