Gpu usage and Cpu usage dropped in BF3 help!

Hi i play on a 120hz monitor and cap my card 7970 at 120fps an i play on custom settings mostly low.
I usualy get 120fps pretty stable but the other day it dropped as low as 30fps-50fps on firestorm which it has never before. Well its dropping not as much but into the 90s so i checked my CPU and Gpu usage on an Aftermatch map and my cpu max was 49% and my gpu was 74%!
Thats low my Gpu usualy is 99% what could this be i have never had this problem before i am running a i7 3770k @4.4 ghz and it was all fine before.

Are you monitoring your temperatures?

Hi Billy yeah all being monitored not going over 59c under load my gpu and my CPU 60-65c so all seems ok temp wise. It's puzzling it's like something may have affected the CPU which in turn is bottlenecking the gpu. I tried splinter cell and gpu went to 99% but CPU was only 55%.
I'm wondering whether it's some software problem.
I have decided for a reinstall SSD is quick for reinstalls so will get back to you, thanks.

maybe throttling to heat

Hi DG nah its not due to heat my GPU is not going over 59C when it use to stay around 64C, its because its not getting 100% load now so its even cooler my CPU is only geting 57% max usage im sure it was around 75-80%!
Anyway done a reinstall and the same dropped to 25fps for a sec!
Its like there's an issue with one throttling the other any help apreciated had this setup for 6 months no problem

I had a similar thing with my setup. When the CPU overheated, it would throttle back and my FPS would dip.
However, you're temps seem to be ok. Have you tried running at standard clock speeds?
Maybe turn off any AV programs you have running in the background?

yeah i done a reinstall so no programs should be affecting it i tried the ram from my other pc just in case as i lost my memtest disc but the same im wondering whether my 7970 is failing or cpu?
im gonna try my 7970 in my other pc which it was in originaly with my i5 2500k

Right moved my 7970 back into my other pc i5 2500k now have to install bf3 on that, can anyone give me what sort of usage i should have got on an i7 3770k @4.4 with BF3 and should my 7970 stay at 99% all the time?
