hi all, I have started to play bf4 bl2 etc again, but in afterburner I have noticed that in both of these games this..

gpu 1 will be about 30%-50% useage
gpu 2 will be 99% usage

from what I remember they both use to be about the same % of usage

my pc spec is in my stig.

anything I could try if something is wrong please?

thanks
ian

This is usually a symptom of ULPS in my experience. Either disable ULPS to get an accurate reading at the expense of ZeroCore when idle, or enable unified readings in Afterburner (seems to just duplicate GPU1's figures to work around the problem).

if I have afterburner running first, then bf4 maps do not load up inc the test range.

load the map first, then launch AB then all is well, both gpu running about the same %

what is the ULPS please Stu?

thank

Make sure Origin in Game is disabled.

I think AB bugs out occasionally, I have had that happen from time to time.

Before you play a title, check AB core/vram clocks, sometimes AB drops stock/oc'd clocks in *half on gpu1 but gpu 2 is normal with (stock)ulps enabled, if ulps is disabled both gpu's would drop in *half-every time, voltage control would be gone in AB.

*half would be either side of half clocks-it varied.

Answer to fix it would be reset AB>reeboot. W8.1 btw and it only happens in CrossFire.

I only use AB for the overlay and to run stock 290X on my DCuII to match my other 290X as I use ulps because 290X's are animals@1080p/120Hz.:D

For OC'ing-Trixx>AB imo.

hi all, any more ideas on how to fix this please?

I have tried to disable ulps in reg
Origin in Game is disabled
and disabled ulps in AB

but i am still getting 0% on gpu 2.

I am trying ccc driver 14.6 at the mo and still not working. I have been trying different ccc drivers including the newest 14.9

thanks

fixed, incase anyone else has the same problem

in bl2, I have the screen size as full screen windowed mode, just change it to full screen and then both cards work

:)

Rule of thumb, Crossfire isn't working outside FULL full screen mode.
