Hello Guys,

I started playing Witcher 2 EE last night and noticed on default settings which were chosen for me by the installer, things weren't 100% smooth. So I disabled ubersampling and scaled few things back.

However I ran AMD system monitor and it is showing 80-90% utilization. Is this right? Or should I be lowering the settings further?

Core i7 3770K @ base 3.5Ghz

I forgot to mention its running smooth now, its just the load that is concerning me :S

The Witcher 2 cripples almost all modern GPUs, on ultra settings it won't push more than about 40 FPS with your card. It's just one of those games you shouldn't really run with AA. I also don't understand why you are concerned about running at full load. If mine wasn't running at full load, then I'd feel like I wasted money. Obviously having half your GPU unused all the time is a good thing...

Regardless, I suggest you use the FXAA injector here as a substitute for the AA inside the game: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=439293

According to this review a stock 7950 will struggle to hit 30 FPS so it's no wonder things don't look all that smooth. In the same review however they have overclocked the 7950 to 1075 on the core and that seems to make a world of difference so if you haven't already clocked your card here's your excuse!

Cheers Guys, I did a small overclock and it seems to be fine :)

Thanks for the suggestion.

I went with 1020/1575 and its running lovely now.

Seriously though...keep the Ubersampling disabled. Visual difference is minimal (and while it does look little difference on screenshots comparison, is it looking "better" is arguable).

I certainly wouldn't trade frame rate drop of 55% for the sake of using that.
