Guys, can you please educate me a little here please.

I've now got my rig totally stable, so been testing a few games today (my free ones from the gold ticket) Been playing Deux Ex, Sleeping Dogs and Saints Row 4. Each game I've put my eye candy levels as high as they can go, max everything. When I'm running Afterburner overlay, both my GPUs only seem to be working at silly low levels. Deux Ex only like 30% on each card. Saints Row 4 the same and Sleeping dogs around 50% on both. Now, it's not like I have a CPU bottleneck, all 4 cores have been below 50% usage on all those games the majority of the time. Is this just because I'm playing @ 1080p with Vsync at 60fps? Are the cards just not needed and not breaking any sweat at all even with extreme AA and AF etc?

Do I need a 1440p panel sooner rather than later to unleash these puppies?

I'm on my phone so I can't link, but could you possibly post your results in the sleeping dogs benchmark thread?

Btw, you do have a bit of a cpu bottleneck :)

how is there a CPU bottleneck when my cores are not running at nowhere near 100%

and yes will run the Sleeping Dogs bench now, not done it before

It's partly the vsync thing, and games like deus ex are pretty undemanding.
What kind of usage do you see inf bf3/4?

Others will explain it better :)

If your getting 60 FPS with vSync on then thats as hard as your GPU will work and no more.

Turn vSync off and then watch it stretch its legs.

there we go just stretched their legs a wee bit hehe...

I might as well keep Vsync on at 60fps I can keep temps well down if they are not working hard.

Vsync is very handy, but you should always switch it off when testing performance. As you found, you'll never see your true potential with it on.

would rather have the IQ of 1440p than 120hz to be honest. Its not like a 60hz panel is unplayable but I totally get what your saying
