what i would like to know is the upgrade worth it?what kind of visual and performance difference will there be going from 2 8800gt card to this newer card.also will the HIS ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2048MB run ok in his machine.

thanks for any help byeeeee

I'd say its really only down to your resolution of your monitor in your case boarder.
If your monitor can hit at least resolutions of 1900*1200 then yep, go get it. Otherwise imo you won't be getting price for performance. My res is 1680*1050 so unfortunately there isn't really much point in me getting one. Suppose I could future proof and get one then upgrade my monitor.....

get an GTX280 then you have the option of sticking a second one in sli... if you need, nott hat the X2 isnt a good card! its slighlt better than the 280 BUT its £100 more and only fractionally better.
