Graininess :(

Fair enough. I just don't see the need for the added complications of converting from raw to jpg at his level. Added complexity gives more room for error ;)
Exactly. Clearly the OP should be using jpeg, not RAW 'just because it's better'.

Also, dont save 'for web', just use 'save as' and select jpeg.

He already is, you can tell because his shots have EXIF data in them, which Save for Web strips out.

A quick fix and also a quick lesson woud be to use a low iso and a tripod, experiment with longer exposures, this is how I learned how to distinguish the need for higher iso speeds and longer exposures. Sometimes you simply cant use a long exposure like live action/moving objects, for landscape pics etc its fine.

thankyou for the replies :D

ive kind of figured it out, took some shots this morning, desperatly need a tripod and remote release (cant find a compatible latter) though as my dyspraxia causes undoubted shakiness :p

Yeh ive looked at some flickr pics using my cam with some amazing results so wont be selling it just yet, will be spending the money on a tripod, release, bag, filters etc. tempted to go on the 40 hour for £75 course in my local city too.

Seem to be getting the hang of the camera aswell :D
